Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2011

This Bobby Clarke Sher-Wood gamer dates from the early 1980s, when the Philadelphia Flyers were perennial Stanley Cup contenders. A two-time Hart Trophy winner, Clarke (HOF Class of 1987) had 358 goals and 852 assists for 1,210 points in 15 seasons with the Flyers, who he led to consecutive Cups in 1974 and ’75. Bobby’s number “16” is stamped on the front of the shaft and the last two letters of his surname and his first initial are visible below his white tape job on the knob, a longer variation than the small knob he favored earlier in his career. Puck gouges are displayed on the front and back of his black bulldog tape job on the blade, which has a rough bottom edge at the heel where the fiberglass layer has been erased by game use. This crack-free Clarke P.M.P. 5030 gamer is complete and intact with red paint transfer on a gouge on the back edge of the lower shaft.
