Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2011

Washington Capitals superstar Alexander Ovechkin's original tape jobs remain intact on the knob and blade of his game-used CCM stick. Ovechkin scored 269 goals through his first five NHL seasons, including 65 in 2007-08, when he broke Luc Robitaille's single-season mark for left wingers. Nice game use is clear to see on this magnificent one-piece stick with the OVI 8 graphics high up on the handle. Pro Stock example has a serial number label affixed to the back of the shaft with the factory specs stamped down near the blade indicating a whippy "75" flex. A small notch is missing from the bottom of the lengthy red grip tape knob which is accented with a couple of wraps of navy blue plastic tape. Blackened white cloth tape remains intact from just before the heel to the toe of the blade. A gr8 piece for Ovechkin aficionados!
