Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/29/2011
New York Rangers great Eddie Giacomin used this Sher-Wood gamer in the mid-1970s. Though preserved in less-than-perfect condition, this game-used goalie stick with "Giacomin E. 1" stamped on the front of the shaft remains a desirable piece. The vintage tape job by Eddie! Eddie! remains on the knob as does Giacomin's black bulldog tape at the top of the paddle. The tape was removed from the blade, which has a crack along the top edge. Fiberglass on the blade and paddle is damaged and lifting off the wood and the shaft has a weathered look, though this Giacomin gamer is otherwise intact and a rare find for a HOF/Rangers collection.
