Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/29/2011
Bright red Chicago Black Hawks road jersey was worn by Joe Murphy during the first half of the 1995-96 season. Chosen first overall by Detroit in 1986, Murphy contributed 22 goals and 29 assists for 51 points in his fourth and final season in the Windy City. We count 10 team repairs on the left sleeve, which also features great dark blue paint transfer through the bottom of the white-and-black double twill #17. More game wear shows in a 2-inch sewing fix on the right sleeve and three more repairs on the front, pilling inside the rear tail and both sleeves, along with board burns on both sleeves and numerous black marks. CCM and size 56 fly tags remain in the neck and the fight strap is intact. From Chicago's first set of 1995-96 jerseys as per the "96" written in black marker on the reverse of the NHL shield on the tail and HOFer Bob Pulford's signed LOA on Black Hawks letterhead.
