Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/29/2011
The Original Six teams played a number of games wearing vintage-style Turn Back the Clock uniforms during the 1991-92 season to commemorate the NHLs 75th Anniversary. This is the old style striped Detroit Red Wings TBC uniform worn by Peterborough-born defenseman Doug Crossman. The white knit by CCM sports the National Hockey Leagues commemorative 75th Anniversary patch on the breast and the tackle twill Detroit stitched across the chest (in a tip-of-the-hat to the great Wings and Cougars teams of yesteryear). The two-tone letter forming Dougs surname are sewn directly onto the jersey (no plate). Light, but obvious game wear with dozens of lighter, laundered stick marks on the lower front, a few small stains, more marks on the sleeves and an unrepaired hole and a cut fight-strap to mention. A rare and very desirable style.
