Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/29/2011
Recycled gamer worn last by Tony Hrkac while with the Quebec Nordiques during the 1989-90 NHL season. The jersey, a CCM knit, features a born-on tag reading "86 01" beneath the Maska Ultrafil label in the collar. The knit nameplate on the back above the number 40 has Tony's surname screened on and there is evidence of a former plate hinting that the shirt was worn earlier by another player. Great wear overall with hundreds of stick marks and areas of pilling. Hrkac won the Hobey Baker Award in 1986-87 when he was playing for the University of North Dakota and played for two seasons in Quebec, wearing this number over both campaigns. Significant flaking is occurring at the back numbers, still, a great defunct style!
