Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/29/2011
Nikolai Khabibulin's #35 was not available when he joined the Chicago Black Hawks because it had been retired in honor of Hall of Fame goalie Tony Esposito. After reversing the digits of his favorite number to wear #53 in his first season in the Windy City, the Russian goalie switched to #39 in 2006-07. This sensational Khabibulin gamer from the Hawks' second season set of home jerseys displays numerous pucks marks, including a beauty on the left breast among a couple on the left front. Another wicked puck mark with fabric burns appears high on the front of the right sleeve along with more puck marks on the front of the left sleeve. "C" is written in black marker behind the NHL shield on the tail and a "Game-Worn 2006 2007 2 of 2" Black Hawks jersey set patch is sewn inside the rear hem. Size 58 and goalie style "Made in Canada" Canadian flag fly tags remain in the neck, and the laundry instruction fly tag inside the left seam and the fight strap are intact. Comes with an LOA Black Hawks letterhead signed by GM Dale Tallon.
