Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2011

Bernie Nicholls established himself among the NHL's elite scorers of the 1980s when he posted three straight 90-point seasons with the Los Angeles Kings in the middle of the decade, including a 100-point effort in 1984-85 that included 46 goals and 54 assists. Nichols shared the ice in 1988-89 with the Great One, Wayne Gretzky, and also shared the alternate captain's "A" with Wayne, Dave Taylor, Luc Robitaille and others. The letter rests on a rectangular Velcro patch on the left breast as the team would rotate the alternates from game to game and found the system to allow for the changes. Devoid of any neck tagging, the jersey has the smaller white/white/silver CCM logo embroidered onto the outer rear hem and a heavy fight strap up inside. Dozens of black and grey stick marks can be spotted on the lower front with more of the same at each elbow. A few additional stick swipes are there on the back. Complete with a comprehensive package of authenticating documents from the MeiGray Group.
