Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2011

Two-time 50-goal scorer St?phane Richer wore this fabulous #44 Montreal Canadiens jersey during the late 1980s. Also featured here is a pair of Ferland Canadiens gloves worn by Richer, who had 50 goals with the Habs in 1987-88 and 51 two seasons later to become the only Canadiens player other than Guy Lafleur to record multiple 50-goal seasons. Team repairs and dried bloodstains are plain to see on Richer's game-worn Canadiens home jersey. We count four round sewing fixes on the left sleeve, which has dried bloodstains below the blue-and-red double twill #44, and three more on the right sleeve. A small CCM logo is embroidered on the rear tail and a faint handwritten "52" is visible on the fly tag in the back of the neck. More bloodstains appear on the front tail and the jersey's fight strap is intact. Really nice game wear to report on of Richer's Ferland 8800 gloves which have "Richer 44" in white on the blue cuff on the front of both.
