Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/29/2011
Regarded by fans of the Edmonton Oilers as Dave Semenko's nemesis during the 1980s battles of Alberta, Tim Hunter was known for his fierce style of play, ranking him among hockey's unwritten list of elite enforcers. This is Hunter's red mesh and knit Calgary Flames uniform from the 1982-83 season. Neck tagging is missing on the uniform but the Sandow logo appears screened onto the rear hem. Game wear consists of a handful of scattered stick and puck marks along with material pulls and a swatch of green board paint transfer. Crinkled tackle twill numbers are all sewn-on, as is the flaming "C" crest at the chest. A peek inside shows the loop-style fightstrap. Comes complete with a package of authenticating documents from MeiGray Vintage.
