Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2011

Another tantalizing 1970s-era in this heavy stretchy-knit California Golden Seals sweater, a style worn during the team's final two seasons ('74-75, '75-76) before moving across the country to become the Cleveland Barons. A partially-frayed Gunzo's tag, a tattered "General" tag and a rolled up size 48 fly tag are in the neck and the jersey reveals evidence of a nameplate removal on the back. Featuring two-tone tackle twill letters and numbers, the jersey shows good game use with six team repairs on the arms and a large patch of repair work running down from the v-neck. Loads of black and grey stick marks and slashes appear on the body and arms. This one is conclusively photo-matched to a shot of Bob Girard wearing the shirt with identical marks on the lower left sleeve. A digital image of the match will accompany the jersey along with a certificate of registration from MeiGray Vintage.
