Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/29/2011
Al Secord, a fan favorite from his days with the Hawks, moved on to play in Toronto with the Leafs for the start of the 1987-88 season and would play half of the following year's schedule before a trade dealt him to the Flyers in Philadelphia. In typical Leafs frugal fashion, this earlier Maska knit was salvaged from the basement for use by Secord in training camp or pre-season play and possibly even into the regular season. A small Maska tag is there in the neck with a size 52 label off to the size and the maker's logo is embroidered onto the tail as well, dating the jersey to an early 1980s set. Well-washed, the shirt displays lighter wear overall includes a few marks and scuffs, some material pulls and a few blue marks.
