Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/29/2011
Ravishing red durene Chicago Black Hawks uniform worn by defenseman Pat Stapleton who played 18 pro seasons including a five-year stretch with the World Hockey Association. This style, with the square shoulders and crossover neck dates to the 1971-72 season. The Wilson tag is hanging on by the bottom row of stitches in the neck and the tag has that "empty" size box, typical of the period. the cuffs have been hemmed up to Stapleton's specs and that wonderful Indian-head logo crest on the chest shows loads of wash and wearing. Single-layer creamy number "12" on the back and again on each sleeve. Nice interior pilling adds to eight team repairs and some light material runs to tell the tale of the game wear. A perfect early-70s durene!
