Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/29/2011
Hall of Fame defenseman Harry Howell is among the 17 members of the 1969-70 Oakland Seals who have signed along the shaft of this vintage Northland stick. The Seals tied Philadelphia for fourth place in the West Division with 58 points, beating out the Flyers for the final playoff spot by virtue of more wins. Oakland was swept in four straight by Pittsburgh in what would prove to be the ill-fated franchise's final postseason appearance. Vadnais, Jarrett, Ehman, Ferguson, Marshall, Muloin and Menard have signed in black marker as well as Smith, Hodge, Hicke, Ingarfield, Laughton, Roberts, O'Donoghue, Mattiussi and Hampson, whose signatures as well as Howell's have small smudges to note. This team-signed stick from one of hockey's most popular defunct franchise's is in unused, excellent-plus condition, ready for display.
