Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/29/2011
Fascinating batch of correspondence features responses to our consignor's requests to hockey personalities about their most memorable moment in hockey. Doug Harvey wrote "My first Stanley Cup" before signing "Doug", while Foster Hewitt's initials follow "The final game of the Canada-Russia eight game series." Fred Sasakamoose's story about being summoned to Maple Leaf Gardens for his first game and meeting Hewitt is signed beautifully, as is his second best moment, while Yvan Cournoyer (playing for the Montreal Canadiens!), Kevin Lowe (first Stanley Cup) and Bill Hunter (standing on the blueline with Team Canada in 1974) also ended with full signatures.
