Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/29/2011
An intriguing letter with this five photo set reveals that it was during Foster Hewitt's radio broadcasts of the Memorial Cup that listeners were promised pictures of hockey's championship clubs of 1932-33. Those who wrote to the C.C.M Company (Canada Cycle & Motor) received group shots of the Stanley Cup champion N.Y. Rangers, Allan Cup champion Moncton Hawks and Memorial Cup champion Newmarket Redmen, along with one of the '32-33 Maple Leafs and another of Foster himself. VG-EX photos on paper stock are generally crease-free with not-too-detracting light soiling, while the envelope is torn but still present.
