Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/29/2011
An astonishing sight and pre-war collector's dream is this sensational wrapper from the Hamilton Chewing Gum Company's lone year of issuing hockey cards. The thought of this actual wrapper enveloping a card of Morenz or Joliat or Clancy or Conacher, or one of 17 others, including the rookie cards of Primeau, Jackson, Horner and Bailey, sure is neat. A piece of gum was of course also included and presumably sold for a penny. Delicate, paper has survived in remarkable tear-free, hole-free condition and has bilingual offers to send in 10 wrappers and five cents to receive a junior league hockey puck. Awesome!
