Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/29/2011
NHL stars of the 1930s highlight this sensational ensemble and one would be hard-pressed to find a nicer-looking trimmed batch of Canadian Chewing Gum cards. Letters at the bottom of the cards could be snipped and sent to the company in exchange for a home hockey game. All 48 cards here thus have been slabbed "A Auth" and "Redeemed" by the SGC grading company. Vast majority have sharp corners, no creases and nice white borders - what great eye-appeal! Included are legends Howie Morenz and King Clancy, along with rookie cards of Charlie and Lionel Conacher, Hainsworth, Bailey, Jackson, Horner, Gardiner and Bun Cook. We can spot but three lightly creased cards; Clapper, Stewart and Gracie, with Joliat and Burke needed to complete this coveted pre-war set. Swell bilingual write-ups, along with the hockey game offer, grace the backs.
