Another well-worn Pittsburgh Penguins jersey from the late 1970s, again a tribute to the seamstress' skills, shows heavy repair to the front crest to keep the uniform intact and wearable. This example was worn by legendary pugilist Dave "The Hammer" Shultz on roadtrips during the 1978-79 season. Tagged in the collar by Stall & Dean with the washing instruction label and the size 52 fly tag above a "7" year tag. Serif lettering crosses the mesh nameplate above the back number "8" and a double garter fight strap appears in the tail. Game wear lighter but we do spy a stitched team repair at each elbow. Of Schultz's 2294 total NHL penalty minutes, 157 were picked up during the 1978-79 season while with the Penguins.
