Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/29/2011
Wonderful white mesh Edmonton Oilers uniform worn by six-time Stanley Cup winner Kevin Lowe. Lowe, the team's first ever draft pick, scored the first goal for the franchise in their opener against Chicago in 1979. Tagged in the collar by Sandow with size "46" marked in ballpoint and the maker's logo screened onto the rear hem. Thin stitched letters spell out "Lowe" across the mesh plate and the number "4" sits below in two-tone tackle twill. Obvious game wear includes a handful of black stick marks and three team repairs. This perfect example is conclusively photo-matched to three separate images showing placement of black stick marks and the winning bidder will receive digital copies of the images. This set was also worn into the playoffs and the shirt saw action in that memorable series against the Canadiens.
