Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/29/2011
The type of lumber that Gordie Howe wielded as his 25-year Detroit Red Wings' career wound down, this Northland Custom Pro was originally gifted to legendary photographer Toto Gingras of Montreal. "Howe" is stamped halfway down the shaft, with "Lie No 6" and "Right" up near the black knob tape. Not exactly the way Howe usually did it, with vintage black tape on the blade as well. On one side of the shaft is where Mr. Hockey applied a nice ballpoint autograph, preceding it by "Sincerely." With the original black accent stripes and in solid condition with no cracks, the stick includes four mounting holes drilled through the shaft. A wonderful addition to a Howe tribute room!
