At the close of the 2001-02 post-season, the victorious Detroit Red Wings stood alone, having defeated the Carolina Hurricanes four-games-to-one to capture the Stanley Cup. Without a doubt, this is one of the most beautiful and substantial Stanley Cup ring we have ever offered! The tableau of this breath-taking creation is flanked by the words "Stanley Cup Champions" on either side of the raised image of the coveted trophy. A total of 82 shimmering man-made stones can be found on the face with an additional 24 red rocks encrusting the raised winged-wheel logo at the center. One shank boasts the Red Wing's "10th Cup" while the opposite side displays a three-dimensional design of three raised Cups with "Shanahan" above and "2002" at the sides. Produced by the heralded craftsman at Intergold, the 14K solid gold ring is marked with the assayer's karat stamp on the inner band with "IGO" indicating the maker. Size 9 1/2 with a very hefty weight of about 60 grams. . Apart from the diamonds, this example is identical to the one presented to Shanahan and his teammates. Condition is top notch despite three small knock marks at the base of the band. Spectacular! [red]
ADDENDUM : This ring is identical in every way, shape and form to the ring that would have been presented to Brendan Shanahan himself.[/red]
