Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2011

Numbah 4! From the moment the NHL put Bobby Orr on its marquee in the late 1960s the Boston Bruins' superstar defenseman transcended the game and gave hockey a whole new profile on the North American sports scene. Featured here are two vintage examples of Orr merchandising, Munro's Bobby Orr Bumper Hockey table top game and Regal's Bobby Orr doll, both with their original packaging! This like-new Munro Orr bumper hockey game is a unique variation with none of the typical slots cut in the "ice" of the table top game. Two wooden Munro mini hockey sticks remain in pristine condition with "Made in Canada" stamped on the top of the back of the shaft. Included in the 25x42x4 shipping box are the ball-bearing roller puck, plastic nets and table legs, playing instructions and bumpers with their original paper backing still attached to the adhesive reverse. The Orr rubber head doll comes in its Regal packaging dressed in a Bruins uniform, including stick, skates and gloves, along with a puck. Though the top of the plastic packaging is torn open, the doll remains in excellent-plus condition.
