Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/29/2011
Great story to go along with this classic 1929-30 Boston Bruins framed team photo. The Bruins pictured here seemed headed for a second straight Stanley Cup with a 38-5-1 regular season mark! Despite their NHL-record. 875 winning percentage, the Bruins were upset by the Canadiens in the finals, which prompted the league to extend the finals to a best-of-5 in the future. Thompson, Shore, Clapper and Hitchman stand in the back row along with coach Art Ross, and Oliver and Weiland are among those kneeling in the front row. This 7 1/2" x 9 1/2" print with facsimile autographs printed along the bottom remains glued onto its original beige and grey two-tone matte, displayed in its vintage 12 1/2" x 14 1/2" frame.
