Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/29/2011
New York Rangers leaders Mark Messier, Brian Leetch and Mike Richter are the focus of this massive and beautifully framed photo of the first instants of the long-awaited return of the Stanley Cup to Manhattan in 1994. Each member of the Blueshirts' holy trinity has signed this wonderful shot of the beginning of the Cup celebration at the end of Game 7 against Vancouver along with referee Terry Gregson, who has added the notation "Game Over" to his signature. Messier's notation reads "94 Cup" while Leetch has signed "94 MVP" and Richter has fittingly added, "Finally", signifying the end of the Rangers' 54-year Cup drought. Wonderfully displayed in a white matte with red and blue accents and mounted in a 34" x 44", this exciting Rangers piece comes with a Field of Dreams LOA. Also included is a framed "Determination" lithograph which Leetch has signed in pencil. Number 180 of 300, this limited edition print is displayed with a white and red matte mounted in a 38 ?" x 26 5/8" black frame. Rounding out this superb lot is a glorious "Rangers Memories" team history tribute print by artist Stan Kotsen, who has signed this artist's proof which is displayed in a 16 1/4" x 12 1/4" frame.
