Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/29/2011
Glen Sather has given nearly 50 years to the game; on the ice, behind the bench and across the desk. His stellar performance at each position has earned him a plaque in the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto. Slats played for parts of four seasons in New York as a member of the Rangers from 1970 through 1974. This heavy durene road blue uniform features Sather's drop-shadow number "6" on the back and sleeves. Tagged by Gerry Cosby in the lower hem with a size 48 fly tag (barely hanging on) off to the side. The vintage tie-neck style shows great wear with a number of unrepaired holes and runs and no less than five larger team repairs. We also spot a few areas of red board paint transfer. Interestingly, the jersey sports a blue marker Gilles Villemure signature down on the lower front.
