Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/29/2011
Hockey legend Guy Lafleur signed both of the limited edition career tribute pieces offered here. Lafleur's pencil signature sits below an image of himself in full flight with the Nordiques on a fabulous 28" x 22" lithograph. Artist Michel Lapensee traces the Flower's career from his return to Quebec City to bring his career full circle back to his comeback with the Rangers, his heyday as an NHL superstar with the Canadiens, all the way to his junior days with the Remparts and Aces. Lapensee signed in pencil on the right and added the notation "E.A 4/100", French for artist's edition, on the left. Lafleur's silver paint pen signature rests on the front of the blade of this fabulous career tribute stick produced for his emotional 2010 farewell tour. Numbered 343 of 2,010, this beauty displays screened images of Lafleur with the Nords, Rangers, Canadiens and his native Thurso minor hockey team on both sides of the blade and lists the Flower's five Stanley Cup wins with the Habs among his career highlights on the shaft.
