Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/29/2011
This game-used Sher-Wood is one of the last sticks wielded by hockey legend Guy Lafleur during his Hall of Fame career with the Montreal Canadiens. Lafleur "retired" for the first time less than two months into the 1984-85 season. This Sher-Wood gamer got its red "02 NOV 1984" date stamp on the back of the shaft just over three weeks before Guy! Guy! Guy! played his 19th and final game of the season against Detroit on November 24. "Lafleur G. 10" is stamped on the front of the shaft below the Flower's original white tape job on the knob. The blade has a 3-inch crack along the bottom edge which shows through the worn-through Lafleur's black bulldog tape. This valiant lumber shows light but clear game use, including red paint transfer on the bottom edge of the middle of the shaft.
