Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/29/2011
The legendary Jean Beliveau is featured in this lot of four items which includes a framed lithograph signed by the great Montreal Canadiens captain and a trio of rare vintage photos from his playing days in Quebec City. Beliveau placed a pencil signature beside the "13/500" notation on the left side of the bottom margin of this limited edition print, which is also signed and dated "2000" by artist Michel Lapensee. Mounted in a lilac matte, this signed Beliveau litho is displayed in a 30" x 24 1/2" frame. A pair of Quebec Aces 8x10 David Bier photos are stamped on the back and have the legendary photographer's name embossed in the lower left. One shot shows Beliveau shaking hands with coach Punch Imlach, and the other shows both with the rest of the Aces in a post-game celebration shot. Beliveau is pictured in his Quebec Citadelles captain's jersey standing in the back row of a vintage 1951 8x10 photo of him with a youth hockey team displayed in a 15 3/8" x 16 5/8" frame with no glass.
