Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/29/2011
This distinctive gold and diamond creation closely resembles the championship rings presented to members of the 1993 Stanley Cup champion Montreal Canadiens. A total of 46 diamonds are set on the tableau of this commemorative 10K gold ring fashioned by a Montreal jeweler in the wake of the Canadiens' 24th Cup win. This magnificent size 10 creation is similar in look to the official ring commissioned by the Canadiens, with diamonds surrounding the bezel as well as set in a raised image of the Stanley Cup on the face, with "1993" in raised numbers along the bottom. The right shank has a raised gold image of the Stanley Cup final logo with "Canadiens de Montreal" above and "24 Together" below. The CH logo appears in raised gold on the left shank with "Pierre" above and "92" below. A "10K" stamp is located inside the band. Although this beauty was not presented to a member of the Canadiens, it remains a stunning and substantial tribute to the team's 24th Stanley Cup win on the occasion of the holy grail of hockey's 100th anniversary, represented in the ring's 100 points of diamonds.
