Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/29/2011
Hall of Famer Frank Mahovlich lost one entry in the Toronto Maple Leafs' record book in 1989-90 when 22-year-old Vincent Damphousse surpassed his record for the most points by a left wing in a season. Offered here from Vinny's personal collection is the framed display the Maple Leafs presented to him to commemorate his 85th point of the season, an assist on Daniel Marois' 33rd goal in an 8-2 loss to the New York Rangers on March 14, 1990. Damphousse, who finished the season with 94 points, has signed in bold black marker on the reverse of the 20 1/4" x 23 5/8" frame. A Maple Leafs official NHL game puck is mounted in the recessed blue velvet, along with a photo of Damphousse in action with the Leafs, a Maple Leafs logo, and a description of the details of Vinny's record-breaking point, all raised up against the glass within the middle of the tasteful light blue matte. Comes with Vincent Damphousse's signed LOA.
