Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/29/2011
This huge framed David Bier photo of Henri Richard scoring a goal in the Montreal Canadiens' 1962-63 home opener was displayed at the Pocket Rocket's popular Monteal tavern. Richard has dedicated the photo with: "To Leo, Good Luck, Henri Richard" in French on this frame, which he gifted to Leo Bourgault Jr., the son of the former NHL defenseman of the same name. Displayed in a huge 30 1/4" x 38" black metal frame, this magnificent original Bier print shows Richard looking at the puck in the net after he has shot past fellow HOFer Gump Worsley in the Canadiens' 6-3 win over the Rangers on October 13, 1962, with the date and score of the game in writing on the ice. The upper right edge of the print is faded from sunlight exposure while a crack in the glass along the bottom right edge is to note.
