Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2010

Right-winger Steve Larmer was a classy goal scorer who led by example on the ice during his 1,006 games in the NHL. This vintage knit takes us back to 1981-82 when Steve was earning his way with the New Brunswick Hawks of the American Hockey League. His 38-goal performance that year help his team along to a Calder Cup finish. Larmer's jersey from that championship season is a blue Maska affair with the company's tagging and size XL label up in the collar. The all-sewn-on style is littered with wear and team repairs. We count at least 55 box-style repair patches on the front, back and sleeves. This example does show evidence that it might have had a former nameplate, but this is typical for the period.
