Here’a great find, an original Canadiens jersey crest in red, white and blue tackle twill from the mid-1960s. The red “C” is sewn with red thread onto a white “CH”, which is sewn with white thread onto a blue “CH”, accompanied by a period photo with Lappy and Howe. This lot includes a 1970 letter from Canadiens GM Sam Pollock renewing Lappy’s contract and promising a raise, a Quebec junior hockey All-Star medal as Montreal’s coach, a 1964 plaque from Centre Immaculle-Conception. Photos in this lot include a laminated portrait of Laperriere behind the bench and a laminated dual portrait of him coaching and on the ice, both autographed in blue sharpie. Laperriere has also autographed a 16” x 21” silver-colored metal frame of the same dual portrait in oval shaped two-tier red and blue matte with embroidered Canadiens logo crest in upper lefthand corner and Canadiens 1964-65 hockey card and coaching card in bottom righthand corner, along with shots of Lappy in action during the 1986 Stanley Cup win in Calgary. This outstanding collection comes along with Laperriere’s signed LOA.
