Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/16/2010
Fun and a an honor for us to offer this desirable H & R Louisville Slugger used by beloved New Englander Carlton Fisk during his memorable years with the Boston Red Sox. "Genuine S44" and Pudge's name appear in the appropriate places on the barrel and the lumber exhibits heavy use, with pine tar residue on the lower half, ball and stitch marks and a few small areas of deadwood on the barrel, as well as rack marks. A few wraps of darkened white tape is just above the knob, which has Fisk's number "27" in bold, thick black marker inside a red circle. A 4-inch crack is visible approximately the same distance from the H & R Company stamp. Used by one of Major League Baseball's most durable catchers before he moved on to Chicago, this beauty will appeal to many and be a cherished acquisition.
