Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/16/2010
Incredible piece of hockey history up for bids here. This original Stanley Cup finals program from the Montreal Forum is from Game 4 of the 1931 final series between Dick Irvin's Chicago Black Hawks and the Howie Morenz-led Canadiens. Trailing 2-1 in the series, the Habs staved off elimination with a 4-2 comeback win on April 11 as Johnny Gagnon and Pit Lepine each scored twice. Gagnon and Morenz both scored three nights later as the Canadiens clinched their second straight Stanley Cup with a 2-0 win. This original 1931 Cup final program includes photos and bios of Cecil Hart, George Hainsworth and Lepine, as well as Black Hawks great Chuck Gardiner. The program remains in excellent condition overall, with a vertical crease through the middle to note that does little to detract from its value.
