Superb lot of three international team jerseys from the 1978 World Junior Hockey Championships. A game worn yellow West Germany knit jersey features bloodstains on the front. Also included are team issued Sweden and USA jerseys from the memorable tournament held in Canada that saw 16-year-old Wayne Gretzky make his first splash on the international stage. Remarkable West German gamer has its original German language laundry instruction fly tag in the neck and vintage yellow lace in the tie-neck collar. German eagle national crest is sewn on the front and a black-and-red cotton #9 is sewn on the back in drop shadow style. Tie-neck yellow mesh Sweden jersey features heat-screened blue vinyl #30 on the back and both sleeves. The silver medalist Swedes went 4-2-1 during the tournament, including a 6-5 win over Gretzky and Team Canada on New Year's Day 1978. A beautiful blue dureen Team USA jersey, crested but not yet numbered, rounds out this great international jersey lot.
