Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/16/2010
Appealing Team Canada jersey was made game-ready for Eric Desjardins' use during the 1996 World Cup of Hockey. The Philadelphia Flyers defenceman scored once and added two assists in eight games during the inaugural World Cup tournament as Canada lost a three-game final to the United States. Desjardins competed in two world junior championships with Canada, as well as the 1991 Canada Cup and the 1998 Olympic Winter Games in Nagano. White air-knit jersey features World Cup of Hockey 1996 patch sewn on the right breast beneath screened black Bauer logo. "Desjardins" is spelled out in red twill letters sewn onto a white nameplate and #37 in red-and-black twill is sewn onto the back and both sleeves. Though this beauty did not see game duty, it remains a great display piece for one of Canada's top defencemen of the 1990s.
