Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/16/2010
The first ever Canada Cup tournament in 1976 featured a "packed" Team Canada, so much so that star right winger Rene Robert made the team, but was not able to dress for any of the games. Nonetheless, as a member of the team, Robert received this splendid silver trophy designed in the shape of a half maple leaf. Unfortunately, the small gold plaque at the bottom with Rene's name and "Canada Cup 1976" was lost over the years. Trophy shows bulging and cracking but remains a marvellous memento from a memorable event. Obtained directly from Rene Robert, it will come with his signed Letter of Authenticity.
