Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/16/2010
Striking red and cream lined Team Canada windbreaker was made for the one and only Bobby Orr, who of course was not able to play against the Russians in the historic 1972 Summit Series. The disappointment and frustration the great Orr experienced must have been mighty rough to deal with. A red nylon maple leaf rises from the waist here, identical to the design of the game jerseys from the famous 8-game battle. The left breast is embroidered "Team Equipe Canada" while a scripted "B. Orr" is indeed embroidered inside. A "Norman Beal Sports Ltd." label is sewn in the lining in the neck area. Featuring elastic knit cuffs, waistband and collar, the jacket overall is in excellent condition, showing very little wear and with a working zipper. A fantastic opportunity for Orr and Summit Series aficionados.
