Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/16/2010
Attractive and stylish durene attributed to the US National Hockey Team circa the late-Seventies is a puzzler. This style has popped up a few times and, to date, the collecting community cannot narrow down the facts of when and where it was worn. Tagging in the lower hem instructs the user on the best method to wash the uniform but no size or maker tags can be found in the shirt. The swooping tie-neck comes down to meet a tri-layer tackle twill "USA" in red, white and blue. Similar twill on the back is crafted to form the number "5" and the number appears on each sleeve, this time in red on white. Game wear is light with a few feint marks and some small circular stains on the front. Certainly a photo will surface in the near future to shed more light on this intriguing uniform style.
