Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/16/2010
Intriguing pair of classic Art Ross Tyer/CCM pucks are the type used in NHL arenas during most of the 1950s and are in difficult-to-ask-for-nicer condition for game used jobs. With identical octagonal orange rubber logos on both front and back, one has "Montreal-Rangers, 2-5-56 Tie 3-3" penned to it, with research confirming the game and revealing it was played at New York's Madison Square Garden. A little part of one logo is missing, with a stick mark and couple of small scrapes nearby, but otherwise nice, nice. Other puck has even brighter orange logos and includes a character-enhancing skate slice on the side, along with a small edge chip. Prerequisites to a vintage NHL puck display, these are game used but still gorgeous - what a combination. And yeah, the Rocket and Gordie fired pucks like these!
