Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/16/2010
Striking creamy wool tie-neck style jersey features a constellation of two-tone felt stars across the chest, above and below the large red "M" (for the province of Manitoba), which is sewn onto the front. A "Tonquin by Cloverdale" tag is in the neck, while red and white felt number "8"s are sewn on the back and left sleeve. There's evidence of a Manitoba emblem patch having been removed from the right sleeve. Nice game use includes two small repairs on the front, another on the left sleeve and a dime-size job on the left (blue) shoulder. Considerable red paint transfer is on the double-knit elbows, with green and a nearby dime-size hole (right sleeve) also noteworthy. The uniform was worn during the league's annual All-Star game circa-1962 with research revealing that Bob Toothill donned #8 in 1962-63.
