Lovely 100+ year old antique dish feature the man who donated hockey's Stanley Cup while Canada's Governor General and who returned home in July, 1893 to become the Sixteenth Earl of Derby following the death of his brother. Stanley later was Mayor of Preston in 1902, with this rarely-seen commemorative piece dated September, 1902 and featuring an image of Lord Stanley and the Preston Guild logo. "Earl Derby K.G. Guild Mayor" is beneath Stanley's image on the 9 1/2" x 11 1/2" dish which, aside from a broken piece on the edge, remains in excellent condition and has fresh and strong colors.
