Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2010

Chosen 19th overall by Anaheim in the 2003 draft, Ryan Getzlaf was wearing this Mighty Ducks jersey when he recorded his first NHL point early in the 2005-06 season. Getzlaf recorded the milestone with an assist on a Joffrey Lupul goal in a game against Columbus on October 14, 2005. He began his career with Anaheim wearing #51 for the then Mighty Ducks because the #15 he wore with throughout his junior career with the Calgary Hitmen was already taken by Lupul, who was traded to Edmonton at the end of Getzlaf's rookie season. Getzlaf switched to the #15 he wore when the newly rechristened Ducks won the Stanley Cup in 2007. Reebok gamer has size 56 "Made In Canada" fly tag in neck and intact fight strap. Game wear is apparent in board burns towards the cuffs, particularly on the left sleeve. Comes with an NHL/MeiGray Group LOA that identifies the jersey as part of the Mighty Ducks' first set of the 2005-06 season.
