Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/16/2010
The Calgary Flames and Sergei Priakin made hockey history late in the 1988-89 season when the Russian forward became the first player given permission by the Soviet Hockey Federation to compete in the NHL. Priakin appeared in two regular season games and one more in the playoffs as Calgary went on to win the Stanley Cup. Priakin had 11 points in 46 games over parts of three seasons with the Flames. This Flames road beauty has a great slash mark on the white-yellow-and-red twill crest sewn on the front and a couple more along the front tail. The jersey's fight strap is intact and the original Maska air-knit fly tag remains in the neck. Bought directly from the team, it comes with a signed letter of authenticity on Flames letterhead.
