Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/16/2010
Dazzling 1970s minor league jersey was worn by Gregg Sheppard during his brief tenure with the AHL's Boston Braves. Sheppard registered 10 points in 8 games at the beginning of the 1972-73 season before he was summoned to the parent Bruins, with whom he would go on to record three straight 30-goal seasons in the mid-1970s. "Braves" in burgundy and black twill script is splashed across the front of Sheppard's tie-neck beauty. Wilson tag in the neck has an "X" through it in black marker. Great wear includes a quarter-sized intricate oblong team repair just above the elbow gusset on the left sleeve. We count another nine team repairs, mostly on the front of the jersey. Beautiful AHL gamer from a team that had a three-year run, including its swan song in 1973-74.
