Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/16/2010
Sensational vintage NHL linesman's jersey was worn by former longtime Chicago Black Hawk forward Harold "Mush" March, who after his 17-year NHL career ended in 1945, spent another 11 years whistle-blowing in the likes of Chicago Stadium and Maple Leaf Gardens. A photo of March wearing this very jersey (we've matched the stitching on the right shoulder) will be included, along with a letter of provenance. Sewn in the collar are "Sand Knit", "Large" and "Dry Clean Only" tags, while the original zipper is still in fine working order. Exhibiting moderate wear with sweat stains at the armpits and a small hole on the back near the right shoulder, the jersey has survived in excellent condition and is the likes of which do not often surface. As a player, March scored the first goal ever at Maple Leaf Gardens!
