Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2010

Fantastic 1970s' offering here with this heavy durene home white Atlanta Flames jersey worn by rough and tough defenceman Barry Gibbs who had a career night in 1975-76. On New Year's Eve, Barry scored a hat trick and was +8 in an 8-1 win over the Rangers! A red Rawlings tag in the collar here indicates size 48, while a '2" Shorter' tag is just below. Featuring nice tackle twill crest and numbers and evidence of a (TV) nameplate removal, the jersey's game use includes a one-inch team repair on the left sleeve, a smaller one on the right, a few scattered black marks, light burns and small stains, along with light interior pilling (shoulders). A black mark that we've photo matched is lighter now due to laundering. With a garter-style fight strap, the formidable jersey will be accompanied by an LOA.
