What an intriguing stick! Roy Worters and Charlie Conacher are among the four deceased Hall-of-Famers that have signed this vintage stick featuring New York Americans signatures. Worters (deceased 1957) starred in goal for the sad sack Amerks from 1928 to 1937. Conacher (deceased 1967) and fellow Maple Leafs great Busher Jackson (deceased 1966) played two seasons with the Americans from 1939-41. Jackson wound up his career in Boston and Dit Clapper (deceased 1978) has also signed even though he spent his entire Hall of Fame career with the Bruins. Its origins unknown, this New York Americans signed Spalding Professional hockey stick is covered with original signatures that may have been gathered at a reunion or over a period of time. Mostly pencil signatures read in order Wally (unidentified), Jackson, Gus Marker (Brooklyn Americans 1941-42), (unidentified), Art Marshall, (unidentified), Clapper, Lorne (unidentified), Ellis Pringle (NY Americans 1930-31), (unidentified, ink), Doug (unidentified, ink), Rhys (unidentified), (unidentified, ink), Red (unidentified), (unidentified), Johnny Conick, Harry "Yip" Radley (NY Americans 1930-31), Bill Taylor, Worters, Ross (unidentified), Windy O'Neil (Maple Leafs 1943-45), Conacher, George Patterson (NY Americans 1929-34), Roy (unidentified) and Red Doran (NY Americans 1933-37).
